Apparently, kicad is moving to wxwidgets so this also affects it in the 6.X series ( T10090)

@livingsilver94 I don't know of a compelling reason to enable it in the 32-bit version

Since then, they have pretty much full compatibility, less some extensions and a single bit of 1.2, so I think we can at least try this now.

I'm not actually sure why this wouldn't be working. AFAICT we have everything necessary enabled in the kernel already.

I'm going to mark this as effectively resolved. For the most part, modern UEFI systems will use the kernel's newer renderer during early boot and it will pretty much hide anything until systemd has something to say.

Can you explain why we wouldn't just put these into the main rust package? From what I can tell, our rust package doesn't get binary linked to by other packages. Based on how it's used, rust is already a -devel package, just not in name. Seems to me that splitting the package just means one more thing for devs to install.

Keyrules/no-script is used in a bunch of our stuff. We need those changes from Ikey's branch. It's why this hasn't been updated yet.

I'm glad to see that Valve are taking this seriously, but I don't think we are quite there yet. Look at how much of a difference in performance there is just for the client with native on and off. It's night and day. I'd love to finally be in a position where it isn't necessary anymore, but I still have quite a few older games that simply will not run without it. And in the 5 years that we've had it, I've only needed to disable it for one game in a library of over 250 titles.
